MEET WITH A RECRUITER

When you decide to join the Oregon National Guard, a recruiter at the McMinnville, OR recruitment center will conduct a pre-screening interview to determine if you qualify for military service.

ACADEMIC EVALUATION

You will take the ASVAB (Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery Test) to see if you have the mental aptitude to enlist and determine what careers you quality for.

PICK YOUR MILITARY JOB

With your ASVAB scores, you will work with your recruiter to choose a military career you quality for.

GATHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Your recruiter will help you gather all documentation needed to join the Oregon Army National Guard.

PHYSICAL EVALUATION & ENLISTMENT

Your recruiter will schedule you a visit to the Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), located in Portland, Oregon. There you will take a comprehensive physical evaluation to find out if you are physically qualified to join the Oregon National Guard. If you are determined fully qualified at the end of the day, you Swear in as a National Guard Member!

ATTEND DRILL AND PREPARE FOR BASIC TRAINING

You will attend paid monthly Drill weekends preparing you for basic training until you leave for training.
